AACT
Julius Clinical Research is a founding member of the Academic Alliance for Clinical Trials (AACT). The AACT effectively brings together academic contract research organisations in Europe, North and South America, Asia and the Pacific, to offer their expertise and networks in full service innovative trial design and execution of multinational clinical trials.
The AACT is a consortium of three major academic research institutions with a global network of collaborating clinical centers:
One of the competitive advantages of the AACT relative to ad-hoc Academic Research Organisation (ARO) collaborations is a harmonised quality system and a full set of SOPs.
Furthermore, the AACT provides sponsors access to a global network of more than 1.000 experienced clinical research sites and academic coordinating centers in five continents.
The AACT partners have more than 20 years of experience in pivotal clinical trials and the AACT successfully conducted more than 30 large scale clinical trials involving over 150.000 participants. Trials were conducted across Americas, Europe, Asia, Australasia and Africa using established research networks. The AACT has managed the two largest diabetes studies ever conducted (ADVANCE and ACCORD). The outcomes of clinical studies executed by the AACT had impact on clinical guidelines, including those for hypertension, dyslipidemia, coronary heart disease, heart failure, cerebrovascular disease and HIV/AIDS. The focus of the AACT lies on Cardiovascular, Diabetes & Metabolic disorders, Psychiatric disease, Infectious diseases and Vaccination.
The AACT published more than 1.000 publications in leading scientific journals.
The AACT, a global alliance between academic research centers and clinical networks, enables sponsors to complete major clinical trials that require site management in different regions worldwide by combining their clinical networks. Partners in the AACT value their academic roots and aim at providing academic added value while being able to perform research according to CRO industry standards.
