Els van der Linden is a member of the Supervisory Board of Julius Clinical Research.
She studied clinical psychology at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
She was head of the department of clinical investigation at the Netherlands Cancer Institute/ Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital, the Netherlands, where she was responsible for the set up and guidance of (inter)national clinical trials. In 1988, Els van der Linden became director and co-owner of the Medical Information and Research Assistance Institute (MIRAI), a CRO providing services for the pharmaceutical industry. In this period, MIRAI grew to a company with 450 employees operating in 13 countries. In 1998, the company was sold to Parexel and Els van der Linden became director of the Benelux, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe for Parexel.
Currently Els van der Linden returned to her profession as a psychologist as she co-founded StressBalance, an organisation concerned with the research and guidance of people with healthcare problems that prevent them from functioning normal on their job.
