Jaap Rietema is Director Quality of Julius Clinical Research.
Jaap Rietema studied Medicine and Medical Biology at the University of Amsterdam where he received his Master Degree in Medical Biology in 1998 specializing in Neurobiology.
He has gained experience within all clinical phases of drug development and trials in an international setting. After starting his career in a phase I unit he transferred to an international pharmaceutical company and has accepted increasing responsibilities as team lead and project manager mainly in phase II and phase III pivotal clinical trials. As project manager he successfully managed regulatory inspection.
This positive experience together with a profound interest in process improvement and the quality aspects of clinical trials, did Jaap decide to fully concentrate on Quality Assurance. Jaap was trained as an auditor with the British Association of Research Quality Assurance (BARQA). He subsequently worked as Clinical Quality Assurance Auditor and in improvement projects before starting with Julius Clinical Research.
At Julius Clinical Research Jaap offers advice and service on quality and risk management. He is responsible for the internal and project specific audit programs as well as the JCR quality management system.
