Rick Grobbee is Chief Scientific Officer of Julius Clinical Research.
Rick Grobbee has been a (principal) investigator in many large scale epidemiologic studies and randomised intervention trials for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. His experience covers the full range of epidemiologic study designs including trials, cohorts and case-control studies. In addition, he has worked on theoretical principles and methods of diagnostic and prognostic research. He is Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the University Medical Center Utrecht, the Netherlands.
He is a past president of the Netherlands Epidemiological Association. Now, he is chair of the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care and a board member of the Medical Advisory Committee of the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences, of the Netherlands Heart Foundation and of the Academic Alliance for Clinical Trials. Furthermore, Rick Grobbee has been on the editorial board of several journals and (inter)national scientific, search and site-visit committees. He supervised over 100 PhD fellows and published more than 760 scientific papers, chapters and books.
