Rita Lobatto is Director Pharmacovigilance of Julius Clinical Research.
After obtaining her medical degree at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands she started her career in the field of clinical research whilst being an anesthesiology trainee.
She has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, working for companies such as Astra Zeneca , Hoffmann- La Roche as well as CRO’s. In the field of Clinical Research she was active in various therapeutic areas such as anesthesiology & pain management, oncology and infectious diseases. In the early 90’s her focus switched to the then emerging field of Pharmacovigilance. She followed extensive training in epidemiology and biostatistics and obtained her Masters degree in Public Health.
During this time she worked academically as well as in the for profit field. Her work evolved from local responsibilities as a Medical Manager to the position of Global director Pharmacovigilance at Janssen Research Foundation.
She was responsible for contacts with branches as well as Health Authorities (EMA) with a focus on crisis management in various countries amongst others U.S.A., Norway and Japan.
The past period she has worked as an executive supervisor for larger pharmaceutical companies (Novartis, Astellas) as well as various Dutch Biotech startups. |
