Director Business Development
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who would be based at our headquarters in Zeist, near Utrecht in the Netherlands, and takes responsibility for business development and account management.
Tasks and responsibilities • Explores and develops new research opportunities for Phase III/IV trials, particularly in the areas of infectious, mental and cardiovascular diseases; • Identifies, analyses and evaluates the current market trends and recommends strategies to meet them; • Oversees the plan and develops the work related to proposal development and contract execution (relevant for contracts with clients); • Liaises with Scientific Officers and Project Managers in preliminary protocol design and analysis prior to proposal preparation and during budget negotiation; • Prepares, negotiates, follows up and updates budget proposals; • Prepares and updates pipeline tracking tables, including weekly reporting to upper management; • Liaises with client’s Legal Manager(s)/Specialist(s) during contract preparation and negotiation; • Creates and updates the contract information database (including historical information) on won/lost offers indicators; • Attends bid defense meetings and performs other duties assigned by the management.
Requirements • Academic level of education in (Bio-) Medical Sciences and Business Administration; • Extended experience in Business Development including several years within an (Academic) Clinical Research Organization; • Excellent communication and networking skills; • Good knowledge of the pharmaceutical market; • Affinity and thorough understanding of the unique proposition by an academically rooted Clinical Research Organization, availability for extensive international travels.
