MORE SUCCESSFUL CLINICAL TRIALS WITH LOCAL TEAMS
The success of large-scale clinical trials depends on being able to access the right sites in the right countries, and to benefit from local expertise whilst keeping global oversight. But how do you secure that? At Julius Clinical we believe that our lean and flexible model using high-performing local teams is the solution.
ACCESS TO LOCAL EXPERTISE AROUND THE GLOBE
At Julius Clinical, we are committed to our local team approach because we experience the benefits on a daily basis. Obviously, we see that local teams are typically the most up to speed on clinical trial regulations in their country. And they have the strongest contacts with local hospitals and patients’ organisations. But more importantly their commitment to their local markets is generally higher and they can be used flexibly in the regions were the patients for the specific studies are.
Our inhouse team conducts clinical trials in the Netherlands, plus the occasional small-scale trial in neighbouring countries. Elsewhere in the world – 38 countries at present – we work with an established Local Team Network of expert CROs. When contracted to Julius Clinical, the local teams taking part in a trial are led by us. They work under our Quality Management System, in our Clinical Trial Management and associated systems and are managed by our team of globally experienced Project Managers. In effect, our customers experience the benefit of a fully integrated team, in exactly those locations where they need them.
THE SAME WAY OF WORKING EVERYWHERE
Whether you work with our Netherlands team and/or our Local Team Network, everyone works the Julius Clinical way. That means one quality management system worldwide and one trial management system to manage all clinical trial teams. This ensures we maintain direct oversight of every local team. We have communication plans and escalation plans in place. We assess every local team at least every second year. We operate a performance-based model. And when working with us, every team is directed by a Julius Clinical project manager and clinical trial lead. Each trial also has a dedicated Julius Clinical project compliance manager to define study-specific procedures and ensure all staff are fully trained in these procedures before conducting trial related activities.
THE BENEFITS OF OUR LOCAL TEAM NETWORK APPROACH
The local team model approach offers several advantages over the conventional CRO approach. Because we involve our network partners only as and when required, you only pay for the expertise you need and use. Also, it means you can run trials in the countries that most closely reflect or suit your protocols, rather than where it suits the CRO. Other benefits include:
- Quick access to strong local investigator networks
- Higher commitment and engagement to your project, and lower team turnover
- Proven ability to outperform the affiliate model in like-for-like situations
- One point of contact and end-to-end-responsibility with Julius Clinical
It all adds up to a fast and flexible solution for pharmaceutical companies that want to execute clinical trials efficiently, to a consistently high standard, anywhere in the world.
